What's a Harry Potter Detail You Only Noticed on a Reread?
These books reward a second visit. A throwaway line in book two turns out to be a thread pulled all the way to book seven. What detail slipped past you the first time and floored you on the reread?
From the Editor
The vanishing cabinet. It's mentioned so casually in Chamber of Secrets — Harry hides in a broken one in Borgin and Burkes — that I never gave it a second thought. Then book six makes it the hinge the entire plot turns on, and I had to sit down. The whole series is built like that: nothing is throwaway, everything is a seed. The first read is the story. The reread is the architecture.
